The Blueprint have announced that Alex Hancock has joined them into the newly created role of global head of search and partner with a remit to find the world's best-in-class leaders from the creative industries.
Alex, who will be based in London, joins from Mastercard, where she was director of executive talent acquisition. She is tasked with supercharging the talent scout’s approach to delivering change for agencies, by finding the most progressive leaders in the world.
Alex explained: “Unearthing best-in-class talent is my passion and I’m thrilled to join a team that puts search at its core. We look for difference. Talent with different skills and capabilities, talent from different markets, often talent from adjacent industries and talent with a diverse mindset and background.”
Alex is well-respected in the industry for her depth of industry knowledge and the stretch of her strategic expertise. Having worked both brand and agency side, she understands all aspects of the industry giving her both a deep empathy for her clients and ability to look beyond outdated stereotypes of what constitutes a leader.
Prior to joining Mastercard, she was senior director of talent acquisition at Havas. She began her career as a headhunter at the Grace Blue Partnership, where she rose to the position of partner.
The appointment is the latest move by The Blueprint to grow its senior leadership team in response to a growing industry demand across the industry for access to its network of game changing leadership talent for agencies.
Gareth Moss, founder of The Blueprint, explained: “Well this is exciting. To paraphrase a Danish beer brand, it seems we’ve signed probably the best search expert in the world. The Blueprint team is delighted to welcome Alex on board.”
He continued: “She has a deep understanding of our industry and gets into every nook and cranny of different geographies, adjacent industries and disciplines to uncover the very best game-changing talent. She is the perfect person to fulfil our mission to grow and diversify our agency clients with the world’s best leaders.”
The Blueprint has also joined forces with one of Asia-Pacific’s most respected creative and media headhunter Jean-Michel Wu as APAC strategic partner, in response to growth across the APAC region. Previously APAC CEO of Grace Blue, Wu’s extensive network and deep knowledge in coaching and sourcing top-tier senior talent across Asia Pacific will fuel The Blueprint’s global approach to scouting the world’s best creative talent..
Moss added: “This collaboration will combine The Blueprint’s expertise in rigorous international executive search to deliver change for agencies fuelled by progressive leadership with Jean-Michel’s unparalleled network and knowledge in finding best-in-class senior talent across Asia Pacific. This partnership will boost our focus on helping more clients in more regions find the transformational talent to fuel their future success.”
